Back in the old days, (1997) the doctors could not figure out what was wrong with me. I had a lot of chronic pain that wasn’t localized. It moved around from my arms, legs, hips and back. There wasn’t such thing as Fibromyalgia back then, or my doctors had not heard of it. As a result, they called it different things, like Restless Leg, Tennis Elbow, Carpool Tunnel Syndrome, TMJ and Depression.
I took an anti-depression, anti-anxiety medicine, which made me void of personality. I didn’t really care about anything…all vanilla, no ups or downs. The problem was that I WAS NOT DEPRESSED!! At night I took an anti-seizure medicine for Restless Leg and it was so strong that if I took it in the kitchen, by the time I got to the bedroom I was loopy. Oh! We are talking about 16-18 steps!! That’s one way to treat it, I suppose – just knock me out at night.
It was many years later that I learned Restless Leg is caused by a toxic body and Fibromyalgia is inflammation.
How did I get better? I got off all the medication. (I took several other medications at the time for random things) I stopped them cold turkey before having brain surgery in January 2004. Brain surgery is a story for another time…
So, I did A LOT of research over the years about the healing properties of food. Yes, vitamins and minerals found in “real” food can heal the body. I began eating a mainly alkaline diet and using nutritional supplementation (that I still use today) and the pain went away within two weeks!!! Two weeks, after years of chronic pain.
